My blogging experience

Hi people, today I have to write the last blog of this semester, and is about my experience as a Blogger. I never had a blog before, and I can say it was a very good experience, so funny, productive and interesting. I liked to learn more about my classmates (with some of them I had never spoken, as we are always in different groups by our surnames, except this time that I changed course) and it helped me a lot to practice my English writing and reading, I learned a lot of new vocabulary and now I can write more fluid (I need to learn to better express themselves orally and pronounce well, uf) I feel I learned a lot, I think I managed an optimum level of development of writing skills, but I still have much to learn. Something that could be included in the future is to comment on blogs or interact more with the other sections of English (like our classmates of second or even first year). We could have written a blog about tips for surviving the first year or something that could have served.
In the future I would like write more about our tastes, preferences, fears, hobbies, since it is usually easier to write about ourselves (sometimes not so much) and with many partners we work only in the academic field and we have not had the opportunity to know each other a little further.

My favorite subject

This time I will write about the subject that I really enojoy studying at university this semester. I think it is... Diagnosis. This is a very complete subject that integrates sciencies like physiology, biochemistry, pathology, microbiology, pharmacology, semiology and others, The teachers in charge of the course are very good in their respective areas, and his mastery on the different themes really motivates me.
I like Diagnosis because, at least in this semester, we moves away from the mouth and learn how to do a physical exam, how our body works in general and about systemic and common diseases such as diabetes, anemia, respiratory diseases, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal and many others that are directly related to our future clinical practice, because we need to know the overall condition of our patient before treat him, and know what effects can generate our involvement in he.
I enjoy studying about how certain common diseases occur because understand why several of them have happened to me or my family, and I understand better how to effectively prevent them. The human body and its functioning seems to me fascinating.
Sometimes this is a heavy subject because it covers a lot of content, and sometimes the time to study it becomes short, but I try to do my best to learn as best as I like, and I'm happy with my results.

Places that I would like to visit

Hi! Well, today I´m going to write about places that I would like to visit. I have a first option that I must to visit and this is Paris, Since I was child I dream to visit France. I really love the Eiffel Tower, the language, the perfums and I like it that the ''house of Dentistry''. Also, is a so romantic and beautiful place that I would like visit with my boyfriend in in the not so distant future, I dream of climbing to the top of the Eiffel Tower and see Paris from above.

If I go to Europe, I would love to visit Rome because I love architecture and all sorts of tourist attractions like the Colosseum or the Pantheon agripa. My second choice is that I visit Brazil, because it is a beautiful, happy country, I love the culture and I have a dear aunt who lives there. I would much rather go to Carnival in Rio and witness this cheerful and worked show. Additionaly, I would like visit to Singapore, as it is a place very developed in many areas, I would like to learn their techniques in education, nutrition and other aspects. 

I would like to travel around the world...

PubMed, your best friend to look cientific information

Hello!

If I think in a good tool that helps me in my daily life like student of Dentistry, inmediately comes to my mind is PubMed (http://www.pubmed.gov). This is a free search engine accessing primarily the MedLine database of references and abstracts on life sciences and biomedical topics. Have a loooot of sections and filters to find the best information available according to your needs, but I currently occupy only ones who taught me to use in class, that are ''MeSH Database'' (Medical Subject Headings), a tool that lets you choose from a list of words defining the exact term you are looking for, in order to narrow the results relative to your needs. Other filter that I use a lot is ''Clnical Queries'', that filter items greater validity and reliability (like systematic reviews, which are scientific articles that integrate all available studies and an analysis of its results).
I use this website at least once a week, sometimes more, and I like it because helps me a lot when the teachers request find current information on any odontologic topic or when a family member or friend has a odontologic doubt that I can not answer.

Things that I would like before die

Hello! Today I going to talk about 10 things that I would like to do before die... Something that scares me is to think about that moment when I will be about to die... and realize I did not do everything I wanted to do with my life. Sometimes I think that I would like to be forever young,,,
Wherever, before I die I would like to:

1. Visit Francia and take a beautiful picture of the Eiffel Tower.
2. Parachuting from an airplane moving.
3. Studying a martial art.
4. Write a book about mistery.
5. Be a mother (I want to have all the children that I can hold ha ha).
6. Learn to play piano, be very good at it and give a concert.
7. Get on a taxi and tell the driver: Follow that car!.
8. Give a helicopter ride around the city of light (Paris<3).
9. Go to the moon for holidays.
10. Be a film director in a movie that I thought the script.

My favorite picture

I love this picture because it shows a very funny moment in my life, my study tour to ''San Carlos de Bariloche'', Argentina, with my dear classmates. The landscape in that place was wonderful. The picture shows one of our many stops, where we pose with a big and gorgeous dog (San Bernardo), as is tradition when you visit the city. The image was taken 3 years ago, when I was in 2nd grade of secondary education, in the summer of that year. It was taken by a photograph that the travel agency contracted. This travel was very important to my friends and me, because  was the last year that we were together in the same course (because we were then separated by elective) Everytime that I see the image, I remember all the good moments that I lived on that travel with my friends, all the laughs, all the adventures, all jokes, all the  that, definitely I will remember forever.

1. When I was 18 years, I jumped bungee, and I loved this experiencie.
2. When I was 3 years, I wanted a pet giraffe too feed out the window (I live on the third floor)
3. I love watch series, my favourites are Breaking Bad and Doctor House
4. I have a cute and tiny pet that destroys all my things. Is a hamster <3.
5. When I'm sad, I like write in a white paper, it makes me feel better.
6. I don't want to grow old. My dream is to be eternally young.
7. If I don't study Dentistry, I study Anthropoly or some other social science. I like see the human behavior.
8. I won a drawing contest in the school without knowing that I was participating.
9. I really love chocolate, I could eat many bars without getting bored.
10. My favourite colors are green and light blue, evrything in my room is one of those colors.
11.  I know how solved Rubik's Cube in seconds.

16. I took piano lessons for a couple days, but then I crush with a window and injured my hand.

My favourite gadget

Hi everyone!

Today I going to talk about my favourite gadget... And definitely is my cellphone. I don’t like to depend on technology, but in the actual ''Age of informations'' is very difficult. I used my cellphone everyday (almost everytime) in the University to informe me about the works that the teachers upload to U-Cursos, see my marks, email, to record the classes and other work functions, and in my house I used them to listen to music, talk with my friends and family, surf on the internet and see movies (amongst many other functions). I got it since the past summer, then to receive my pay after of work with my mother.
I like my cellphone because is so useful to me, make me more easy my everyday life, is comfortable, small (I don't like big cellphones) and is very portable. 
My life without it would be more complicated in some aspects, I couldn't do a lot of things that I do , but also would be more free, because sometimes I feel that I'm a slave of technology and I spend a lot of time in Facebook or things that, finally, aren't important.

Why Dentistry?

Hello everyone! Today I will write about my career, why I chose and how.

Well, actually I'm studying Dentistry and I really love my career, but it wasn’t easy to choose.

When I was child, I wanted to be a garbage woman. Yeah, people who do the trash collection, haha. Always that I saw a garbage truck, I thought it was the most fun job in the world because they always hung from the truck and screamed. I wanted to be as them. Then, when I grew up, caught my attention the area of health. Medicine seemed a good choice, I liked the idea to help people and heal them. But, after some time, I thought in Medicine spend a lot of time of my life, studying and practicing, and I dimissed the idea. 

My career

When I was in my last year of school, I started to find out about a lot of careers, and doing this I found Dentistry. Was a perfect idea: Help people to return their smiles, learn to Biology, human’s body, science in general, work with my hands and I loved all this. And I’m here, like a Dentistry student (suffering with Simulations).

I think that my choice was really good, I love the career and I have many fun studying and practicing (also stress, of course). I like my classmates, the environment, the teachers and Dentistry in general.

In the future, I would like work with adolescents, maybe like ortodoncist, and develop a investigate work in a laboratory while I'm working in clinical.

A bit of my life

Hi everybody! My name is Constanza, but everybody call me Cony (or sometimes ´rat´for my classmates). I was born in Santiago de Chile 19 years ago, almost 20.

My boyfriend and me

Always I did like going to school. I have a lot of good memories about the school time, I met many friends very importants for me. The last year, I should change my school for problems with the new rule to postulate to University, `the Ranking´, and was a very difficult change. I couldn´t graduate with my friends and was hard emotionally, but was necessary to my profesional future.
Actually, I study Dentistry in Universidad de Chile and I love my course. I like think that in a future I will able to return smiles. The bad side of study Dentistry is that I have a lot of things to do all the week, study a lot of topics and practice so much. Sometimes is stressful, but I like it.

Also, in my first year of studies I met my boyfriend, Rodrigo, is my classmate and I love his.

My hamster: Canela 

My family always has been a support for me with the university responsabilities, especially my mom, that always is worried about my diet or things that I can´t do fine for be doing the activities of the University. My brother Rodrigo (called same that my boyfriend) is study Engineer, and I admire him. He was 31 years old and is like my second father. Also, I have a hamster called Canela. She`s so cute, but bite and break all at have near.

About my hobbies, I love read books of all kind, especially about mistery topics. Some years ago, I was learning to dance ´arabic dance`, but actually I haven`t time for that. I hope take again the class in the future. Actually, my only occupation is Dentistry.
